At Coastal Heart Rhythm, our mission is to provide world-class expertise in heart rhythm care—delivered locally to the Mid Coast region. We want patients and their families to have access to leading specialist care close to home, without the stress of long-distance travel. Dr Paolo D’Ambrosio and Dr Gwilym Morris are highly trained heart rhythm cardiologists who have undergone advanced fellowship training in the management of heart rhythm disorders (cardiac electrophysiologists). They use the latest techniques—including Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) and Conduction System Pacing—to improve the safety and outcomes of treatment for heart rhythm disorders. Our approach is patient-centred: we take the time to understand your needs and create a tailored treatment plan, combining advanced technology with compassionate care, to help you live a healthier and more confident life. Dr D'Ambrosio and Dr Morris will work together for you, to ensure that your care is both convenient and of the highest quality.

Our Specialised Heart Rhythm Services
At Coastal Heart Rhythm, we specialise in advanced heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) care. Working closely with local GPs we provide consulting services and pacemaker clinics in Taree and Forster. Patients requiring interventional treatments such as cardiac ablation or pacemaker implantation will need to travel to Newcastle, which is the closest location with fully equipped cardiac hospitals.
Pacemakers and Defibrillators
Dr D’Ambrosio and Dr Morris specialise in advanced pacing techniques, including conduction system pacing. They are highly trained in implanting all kinds of cardiac devices including transvenous pacemakers & defibrillators, subcutaneous and leadless systems.
Cardiac Ablation
Dr Morris and Dr D’Ambrosio perform cardiac ablations Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and for all other types of simple and complex heart rhythm disorders. They both have a special interest in advanced ablation techniques, including Pulsed Field Ablation for the management of Atrial Fibrillation.
Other Services
As part of their aim to provide a wholistic cardiac arrhyhtmia service to the region, Dr D’Ambrosio and Dr Morris also provide expertise in lifestyle interventions to manage heart rhythm disorders, remote and in-person pacemaker / defibrillator follow-up and troubleshooting, investigation and management of inherited heart rhythm disorders and optimisation of heart failure care through device therapy.
